| The report clearly demonstrates the viability of an international market, such that of the 284 million certificates issued to date, 28 million have been transferred internationally, and 157 million have been redeemed. This year (2007), Sweden, Norway and Flanders have continued to increase their share of redemptions, joined by France; while the major certificate issuing countries remain Norway and, to a lesser extent, Sweden, then Finland and Netherlands. The largest exporters remain Sweden, Norway and Finland; while Netherlands, Austria, Flanders (in March) and increasingly Germany remain the major importers, joined by France – which is making its presence felt, with major imports over the summer overshadowing all other importers.
The proportion of certificates that are redeemed has risen to just over 55% overall (more than 62% during 2007). |
