EECS Message Schemas

The XML Schema Definitions (XSD) and JSON validation schemas below define the format of the certificate transfer messages that EECS Registries exchange through the AIB Hub.

The schemas are the technical expression of Annex B of the Subsidiary Document SD03 – EECS Registration Databases (also known as HubCom). SD03 describes how the schemas are used, the transformation rules between the message schema versions and the transition deadlines. In case of a discrepancy between SD03 and a schema, SD03 prevails.

The current release of SD03 is available on the Subsidiary Documents page.

Message schema versions

The AIB Hub currently supports two message schema versions – v80 and v81. Message schema v81 is available for use in the Hub from 27 October 2026, and AIB Members are required to implement and start using it by the end of October 2027 at the latest. Until then, the AIB Hub receives and forwards both versions and translates the certificates between them where needed. A change of the message schema version used by a Registry requires a Technical Audit.
