Sweden joins AIB Gas Scheme Group and is Hub connected
The AIB Gas Scheme Group (GSG) formally approved our Swedish AIB Member and Issuing Body "Swedish Energy Agency" application to join the AIB Gas Scheme.
From 1 September onwards, Swedish gas GOs may be considered EECS GOs. Such EECS gas GOs will be tradeable over the AIB Hub.
“After being an observer for so many years, we are happy to finally be able to join GSG as a full member”, the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten) commented.

Sweden has been a Full Member of the AIB Electricity Scheme and has been connected to the AIB Hub for electricity GOs for many years.
The AIB Gas Scheme has nearly tripled in size since mid-2024 (from 6 to 16 formal members), showing how quickly registries are moving from domestic-only gas GO issuance to full AIB Hub connectivity, and, increasingly, to real end-use cancellations rather than just paper transfers.
AIB-wide gas GO issuance reached roughly 17 TWh in 2025, heading for 24–30 TWh in 2026, still a fraction of the electricity market but growing fast as more registries plug in and more of that volume is used, not just traded.
