AIB publishes Reflection Paper on "the renewable energy legal framework post 2030"

In this reflection paper, AIB sets out recommendations for the EU’s post-2030 framework for tracking renewable energy. The paper argues that guarantees of origin should...

... remain the single, reliable instrument for proving the origin and ownership of renewable energy attributes across EU policy frameworks, avoiding parallel systems and the risk of double claiming. AIB calls for better alignment between GOs and instruments such as the Union Database, harmonised access to GO registries, and stronger supervision of corporate energy claims. It also offers AIB’s operational and technical expertise to the European Commission and Member States to support the development of a coherent, practical and secure framework for energy attribute tracking.
