Why? Outlook (Office 365) scans all links in emails by visiting them. Meaning, if the link is a confirmation link, Outlook will visit it the first time. After this, the user clicks on it, but it will be invalid/expired, as this kind of confirmation link only works once. As Outlook visits the link first, the subscription is confirmed, and thus you are subscribed.
